Deadlift with Bands
A conventional deadlift with bands looped over the bar and anchored to the platform or under your feet, so resistance climbs as you stand. It trains speed off the floor and a hard finish at lockout.

How to perform
Main muscles working (thicker lines)
Starting position
Set up at a loaded bar with a band over each sleeve anchored to platform pegs or under your feet, feet hip-width apart and the bar over midfoot.
Hinge down and grip the bar just outside your legs, shins touching the bar.
Brace, pull the slack out of the bar and set your back flat.
Push the floor away and accelerate as the bar passes your knees.
Drive your hips through to lock out against the peak band tension.
Lower under control without letting the bands snap the bar down.
Breathing: Brace before the pull, hold it through lockout and exhale at the top.
Coaching tips
Fast off the floor
Finish through the hips
Control the bands down
Common mistakes
Bands set unevenly on each side
Losing position as tension peaks at lockout
Letting the bands yank the bar down
Safety notes
Check the band anchors before every set.
Use a lighter bar load than your straight-weight deadlift; the bands add load at the top.
