Starting position
Stand with your back and hips against a wall and heels about one to two feet in front of it, legs straight.
Keeping your heels on the floor, lift your toes as high as you can toward your shins.
Squeeze briefly at the top.
Lower your toes under control, stopping just before they touch the floor.
Repeat for the set; step feet farther from the wall to make it harder.
Breathing: Exhale as you lift your toes, inhale as you lower.
Coaching tips
Heels pinned
Toes to shins
Slow lowering
Common mistakes
Bending the knees
Letting the toes slap down
Standing too far from the wall too soon
Safety notes
